Welcome to Restoran Yong Yong, a gem nestled at 666D-1, Jalan Bukit Melaka 1/2, Taman Bukit Melaka, in the vibrant heart of Bukit Beruang, Melaka. This charming eatery stands out as a premier destination for those seeking a taste of authentic Chinese cuisine, with a special focus on the beloved Malaysian dish, Bak Kut Teh.
The restaurant primarily serves breakfast and lunch, where the enticing aroma of slow-cooked herbal broth beckons you to indulge in a heartwarming, steaming bowl of Bak Kut Teh. Patrons rave about this dish, with one satisfied customer, Tony Yong, noting it as "one of the better bak kut teh stalls in Melaka." It's a perfect blend of pork ribs simmered in a rich herbal broth, fragrant with spices that awaken the senses, offering a comforting experience that warms the soul.
Aside from Bak Kut Teh, the menu features delightful offerings across multiple stalls for various palate explorers. A standout dish is the "Nyonya Fish," which has garnered excellent reviews, such as from John Kheng Liew, who recommends it earnestly. The flexibility of bringing your own fish for an authentic preparation at just RM 15 showcases the restaurant's commitment to providing personalized dining experiences.
Restoran Yong Yong also embraces the social aspect of dining, providing a lovely outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your meal under the stars. Adrian Lee appreciates the open-air setup, boasting that it’s an "excellent night out" complemented by "good service" and a selection of beers. This creates an inviting atmosphere where friends can gather to enjoy delicious food and drinks, the perfect backdrop for memorable evenings.
The restaurant is characterized by its simple yet spacious design, freely catering to families and groups alike. Chow Hon Keong mentions the friendliness of the space, where freshly cooked Chinese dishes meet the vibrancy of nearby Indian stalls, offering an eclectic mix that reflects the rich culinary tapestry of Malaysia. From wantan mee to curry noodles, there’s something to entice everyone’s taste buds.
In addition to the flavorful dishes, Restoran Yong Yong serves Chinese herbal drinks, although it has been noted that the beverage selection is somewhat limited. However, the satisfying experience of their food more than compensates for this minor drawback, as highlighted by THESINA SURESH, who emphasizes the delicious food and pleasant atmosphere.
So whether you’re popping by for a leisurely lunch or planning a cozy dinner with friends over beers and masala chicken from the nearby Indian stall, Restoran Yong Yong promises a delightful culinary adventure that combines great food, a friendly environment, and an overall enjoyable dining experience. Don’t miss out on exploring all that this wonderful establishment has to offer during your visit to Melaka!

5 stars because I really enjoyed sitting there at night in the open air and having a few beers. The only photo I took, I can't post. I'm posting the photo of food that is very similar to what we had. RM1.20 per stick, I think. My good buddy paid for it, I paid for Sapporo bottles. Good service with attentive staff. Didn't manage to order much food. Lovely seating and an excellent night out.

This is a restaurant located in the Bukit Beruang area of Melaka. It is a simple but fairly large restaurant. It occupies about two and a half shop space. There is also an outside dining area. Freshly cooked Chines dishes are available. The cooked food dishes are of acceptable standards.. There is an Indian stall in the restaurant. There is a wantan mee stall which sells curry noodles. The Pork Chop Rice from the Wantan Mee stall is nice and recommended. There is a stall that sells freshly Barbecued Food on skewers too The usual coffee shop drinks are available. Fresh fruit juices are available too. Beer is also available here. Service is reasonable. Prices are reasonable. Cash and e-wallet payments are accepted here. Cleanliness is acceptable. There is a big car park nearby and many road side parking spaces available. Patrons on wheelchairs can patronize this restaurant easily. A popular place for customers to enjoy cool beers in an outside sitting environment. 27-09-2022 : Business operations are back to normal. Prices had inevitably increased slightly. Prices are still reasonable and competitive. 07-02-2923 : Business is operating without any Covid-19 restrictions. There is a change in some food stalls operating in the restaurant. 13-08-2023 : Business as usual. Enjoyed the Sweet and Sour Pork Rice. The Fuyong Eggs was great too. 06-07-2024 : Prices had increased slightly but still very competitive and reasonable. Food qualities and portions maintained. Tried their Deep Fried Tofu with Minced Pork and Stir Fries Eggs with Bitter Gourd. Both are great. Recommend both of these dishes.. 08-07-2025 ; Prices had increased slightly but still very competitive. Enjoyed the Sweet and Sour Pork Rice.

The food is delicious and the atmosphere is quite okay. Service wise, we might get a little confused in terms of conversation but, they are still good in it. The sad thing for me is, there was no Chinese Tea when I visited. Overall, a good restaurant for dinner.
